Mr. Artico, an expert in chemistry and in particular plastics, led a research team within Friul Filiere, in the study of a completely new composite material. For years, the well-known WPC, a compact mix of wood and plastic, has been on the market. The team's goal was to create a FOAM WOOD-PLASTIC composite. FRIUL FILIERE SPA has developed an innovative technology since it allows the extrusion of an ultra-light WOOD-PVC composite, lightened by closed cell expansion, to bring the specific weight up to 0.7: its name is FFC ™ (foam fiber composite). The components can range from 50% to 75% for PVC and from 25% to 50% for natural fiber.
Friul Filiere has developed a complete know-how that can guarantee the whole production process: raw materials formulation, saw dust drying, mixing, loading, extrusion.
FRIUL FILIERE SPA completes this plant with the toolings that designs and manufactures and which are the heart of its technology. Since the extrusion of natural fiber requires rather reduced speeds, in order to increase productivity, multi-exits equipment can be produced, especially for small to medium size profiles.
FFC™ profiles have excellent physical-mechanical characteristics and they are workable with the same tools suitable for woodworking for milling, gluing, painting, lacquering, varnishing etc.
This product can replace the materials currently in use in building, construction, furnishing for applications such as windows, doors, fences, balconies, skirtings, kitchen skirtings, frames.
